Jiading Wanshou Pagoda

Jiading Wanshou Pagoda Built in the eighth year of Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1743), it is also commonly known as the South Gate Tower because it is located outside the south gate of the original Qingpu County. Later, buildings such as halls, halls, and verandas were built, covering an area of nearly 30 acres, which was called the Wanshou Pagoda Courtyard. The tower was rebuilt in the 39th year of Qianlong’s reign, but was struck by lightning in the 43rd year of Qianlong’s reign and was seriously damaged. In the fifth year of Jiaqing, Qingxi Academy was built on the east side of the pagoda courtyard. There was a fire in the ninth year of Guangxu’s reign, and only the tower body remained. It was repaired and reinforced in 1992 and restored in 2009. The tower is a pavilion-style tower with brick and wood structure, square, with a side length of 4.35 meters, and a seven-story tower with a height of 33.19 meters.
